What Parents Are Saying

“We’re so very fortunate to have you in our child’s educational journey. I’ve been an educator for over 30 years, and what I value is you truly embrace the whole child in your work. Our daughter has struggled with literacy since kindergarten. As a second-grader, she also has experienced three major disruptions in her education, including the pandemic.

You provide consistency, patience, and care in your work with Virginia. Your level of expertise has moved you not only to work with her but to also guide us as parents as well as her school in how to best support her learning. You’ve taken the time to listen to our child to understand her needs and to ensure that she has steady progress.

From the resources you provide to the feedback you offer, we are confident that Virginia will embrace learning in all its forms. We are pleased that with your work, she’s become far more curious about the words she sees around her. She’s also more confident in working and learning from her teachers in school. Thank you for all that you do.”

“I loved working with Stephanie. She understood my worries and immediately began to work with my son. She kept Ian engaged despite it being over zoom.  She took her time to send him a binder that they worked on in tutoring sessions. Stephanie also gave us a plethora of different fun ideas that we could work with on our own to support what she was doing with him in their tutoring sessions. She used different resources for reading including resources that his teacher used. Ian especially enjoyed Vooks.com that he worked on independently in his spare time. Over time he became more confident in tackling words that he didn’t know. In a six month period Ian grew 5 reading levels. I know that his tutoring sessions with Stephanie contributed to that growth.”

“I will start out by giving praise to Mrs. Blount for having such patience, enthusiasm, and passion as an educator. I've had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Blount 4 years ago when my eldest daughter entered Hawthorne School, which made it easy when Mrs. Blount came highly recommended to tutor my son who has special needs. Mrs. Blount tutors him twice a week for 1 hour each day for the past 1 year and a half. Mrs. Blount is reliable, hardworking, open, and available.

When Mrs. Blount began working with my son, he could barely identify the letters in the Alphabet, now my son is reading with comprehension, all because of Mrs. Blount’s consistency and dedication to my child. I am most grateful for her patience with me, she has taught me tricks to work at home with him and for that, I am forever grateful.

I truly believe Mrs. Blount will be an asset to any organization or institution like she has been for my family and many other families in the school district.  I can go on and on about Mrs. Blount. She's such a lifesaver to my son and family.”
